Start with size, fibre clues, backing and condition.

A rug should be reviewed as an individual furnishing, not assumed to behave like fitted carpet.

Before we plan the visit

A useful estimate starts with the real space.

Share a full image of the rug, a close view of the pile, the underside and any label. Note fringe, colour migration, curled edges, pet contact and products already used.

Dimensions

Approximate length and width help establish handling and drying needs.

Fibre and label

Photograph all manufacturer, material or country-of-origin information.

Backing

Latex, woven and bonded backings can affect suitability.

Problem areas

Include spots, odour, fringe, bleeding or damaged edges.
